And the Flu is still all around us
Well winter is theroretically coming closer to an end ( well that is a maybe!) but those flu symptoms are still knocking people down like bowling pins.
Rhus Tox is definitely to be thought of when the person complains that it is to difficult to move but seems to manage better after a few steps then, like a rusty gate, a little movement too far will cause their energy to drop down rapidly. After a short rest they are almost compelled to move because they feel so uncomfortable and repeat the cycle.
There is often a high fever and aching in both muscle and bones and quite often a strong thirst.
Deppression can come quite quickly and you may find them crying without knowing why.
Tongues can give interesting clues in homeopathy and for those who benefit from Rhus Tox often have a red triangle at the very tip as well as itching blisters around the mouth.
Arseniucum Iodide have watched this have an amazing quick response.
One of the people I work with had a very heavy runny nose which was getting heavier all the time , chills and flushes of heat and had broken out in very debilating sweats. So much they had needed to change the bed linen twice during the night. One of his more unusal symptoms was that despite been quite ill he HAD to tidy and clean his house!
Shona prescribed Arsenicum Iodide and the sweats did not reappear, his energy levels returned to normal the by following day.
He also mentioned that the feeling of tension or sensation of his neck being extremely tight disappeared within 10mins.
It is a remedy that can often be thought even in the early stages if there is sneezing and a feeling of weakness
Sticta is a remedy that is great for that inccessant wearing racking cough that is often experienced . Especial if this other group of symptoms are present
-
runny nose
-
profuse watery eyes
-
headache
-
thirst
-
lots of muccous at night
-
hoarse voice
-
frontal headache which often indicates sinus involvement
As Shona mentioned in her earlier post it is always ,if possible, best to have a proffessional Homeopath you can call on when more
It is very hard to actually see the symptoms which are really important when you are very unwell. Here I would like to say a huge thank you to Shona who was able to select the remedy for me in a very acute situation that restored me very quickly to health.
One of the things that we are currently working on is a homestudy course which will help people develope skills to be able to provide a first aid/acute illness response to situations.
If you are interested please bookmark www.homeopathiccollege.co.nz and check in on a little later. Well I hope that you have time to go out and enjoy the slighty warmer weather , in the southern hemisphere, or pulling out your winter clothes for those of you in the northern hemisphere.
Enjoy your day
